Real Madrid targets Russian striker

The Spanish giants Real Madrid are interested in the Russian striker, Roman Pavlyuchenko. The 26-year old Spartak Moscow striker has proved his mettle in the recent Euro qualifier matches.

  • Real Madrid had been in the search for a young and mature striker who could replace the ageing attack and they have found a Russian striker, Roman Pavlyuchenko. He plays for Spartak Moscow and has scored 63 goals in 128 games for them.



    Real Madrid scouts Juan Lopetegui and Rafa Monfort remarked that Roman has an "eye for goal" and he has international experience. They believe that he will act as a good cover for Raul and Nistelrooy.



    He is 26-years old, 188 cms tall and has blistering pace.He started his playing years in Dynamo Stavropol and then moved to Rotor Volgograd. He showed his potential playing for Rotor and Spartak Moscow bought him. It was from there he scored a lot of great goals.



    He topped the goal scoring charts twice in the Russian championship in the '05-'06 and '06-'07 season. He also scored two vital goals for Russia against England in the Euro 2008 qualifiers.



    He is considered as the new pearl of Russia and he is valued at 10 million euros. Real Madrid will have to bid with a very high amount to price him out of Spartak Moscow
