AC Milan have reportedly contacted Marouane Fellaini regarding a potential move to the Serie A. The Belgium international could leave Manchester United on a free transfer when his contract expires next month.
Earlier last month, United boss Jose Mourinho suggested that Fellaini is close to committing his long-term future to the club but there has since been no update regarding the club's stance on the Belgian.
As such, speculation over his future has intensified by the day and Het Laatste Nieuws journalist Kristof Terreur has now claimed that the Rossoneri have made an approach for the 30-year-old.
He tweeted: "That’s a confirmation from my side. AC Milan have contacted Marouane Fellaini about a summer move. They are willing to offer him a long term deal. Man United still in the race, though."
At present, Fellaini is understood to want a fresh two-year deal at Old Trafford worth £100,000-a-week but the club's hierarchy are supposedly reluctant to offer him more than a year's extension.
Despite this, Mourinho will be hoping that the midfielder will commit his future to the club after having talked up his importance on a number of occasions through the 2017/18 campaign.
