Fulham have been told to pay up a club-record fee of around £20m in order to sign Aleksandar Mitrovic from Newcastle United on a permanent basis.
The Serbia international joined the Cottagers on a short-term loan during the second half of the season and helped them to promotion with an impressive tally of 12 goals in the Championship.
According to The Chronicle, the Magpies are holding out for a sum of around £20m for the Serbian marksman with both Crystal Palace and Fulham interested in acquiring his services.
Mitrovic is currently with the Serbian national side in preparation for the summer World Cup and Fulham could seek to conclude the deal prior to the global tournament where a strong showing may attract further interest.
The former Anderlecht man has not had much success during his two seasons in the Premier League but he will be keen to prove his worth next term after gaining valuable experience in the top-flight.
