Chelsea end contract talks with Thibaut Courtois

Courtois turns down fresh Blues contract

Chelsea end contract talks with Thibaut Courtois

01 June 2018 - 09:05

Chelsea are reported to have ended contract discussions with Belgium goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois. The 26-year-old has just a year left on his existing deal with the club.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • According to Sky Sports News, talks over a new contract with the shot-stopper have reached an impasse and this could potentially see him leave the Blues on a free transfer next summer.

Courtois has attracted plenty of transfer interest from the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid over the past year but the keeper has said on many occasions that he is happy to stay at Stamford Bridge.

The Belgian has been the Blues' first-choice goalkeeper over the past four seasons and during his period, he has racked over 150 appearances for the club across all competitions.

A recent report has suggested that Chelsea could seek to pursue Alisson from AS Roma as a potential replacement for Courtois and this may witness his exit from Stamford Bridge this summer.
