Arsenal are reportedly declined the prospect of signing midfielder Marouane Fellaini on a free transfer from Manchester United.

  • A report from The Times had recently suggested that the Gunners could discuss a surprise Bosman move for the Belgian but the club appear to have now pulled out of the race.

According to The Sun, the north London outfit had expressed an interest in signing Fellaini under the guidance of Emery but the player's financial demands have ended their pursuit.

Fellaini's representative is said to have placed demands of a £120,000-a-week wage package in addition to a significant signing-on fee and this has proved too step for the Gunners.

Meanwhile, the Belgium international also does not fit the club's style of play and they have now decided to pursue a different player to bolster the centre of the park.

Fellaini, who made his initial reputation with Everton, is currently with the Belgium national side for the World Cup and any decision over his future is expected to be made only after the global tournament.
