Shaqiri set for Liverpool move?

Liverpool plan move for Xherdan Shaqiri

06 June 2018 - 18:23

Xherdan Xhaqiri is a shock target for last season's Champions League finalists Liverpool. According to multiple reports this afternoon, the Anfield giants will make a move for the Stoke City attacker, who has informed his club that he will be seeking a transfer move away this summer.

  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts
  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players

  • With Stoke City now headed for the Championship, Shaqiri, who very often caught the eye at the Potters last season, despite his club's eventual failings to stay in England's top flight, has informed his agent that he would like to move to a new team.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been promised up to £100 million of funds to sign new players as he looks to secure the club's first piece of silverware since his arrival from Germany.

The Mirror reports that Liverpool will battle Roma to sign Shaqiri and will pay a fee of around £15 million to secure the Swiss international's coveted signature.

Stoke City signed Shaqiri from Inter Milan only two years ago and the player has one year remaining on his existing deal.
