West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini has been sitting down with his new scouting team who have suggested that the Hammers make a move for Ghana international striker Raphael Dwamena. The 22-year-old has caught the eye in Austria and Switzerland's top flight; where he currently plays for FC Zurich and has previously enjoyed spells with Lustenau and Red Ball Salzburg.

  • Dwamena remains one of Africa's brightest attacking talents and at the age of 22 still has plenty of time to develop into a top talent. Several teams have been tracking the progress of the striker but Dwamena is known to favour a move to the English Premier League, where West Ham are expected to beat Southampton to the player's signature.

Since completing a move to his current club FC Zurich, Dwamena scored 12 goals in 18 games helping his club to win the second division title in Switzerland and to earn promotion to the Swiss Super League.

Dwamena had been expected to make a move to Brighton and Hove Albion last year, but a deal fell through at the last minute due to health issues. It is understood that the player has since overcome these and will now make a move to West Ham instead.
