Barcelona approach Mexican World Cup star

Barcelona approach Mexican World Cup star

22 June 2018 - 18:32

Barcelona have made an approach for Mexican attacker Hirving Lozano, according to the player's father.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • The PSV Eindhoven caught the attention of fans after he scored the winning goal for Mexico as they defeated world champions Germany by one goal to nothing.

His father told ESPN that an approach has been made, but his future will be clarified after the World Cup.

The 22-year-old joined Dutch side PSV in June last year on a six-year contract, and has made 29 Eredivisie appearances for the club, bagging 17 goals and 8 assists.

In the meantime, Lozano will focus his attention on Mexico's World Cup campaign as they prepare to face South Korea on Saturday.

The Mexican's are bidding to make it to the second round of the competition once again, and a fine performance from the player will most likely make managers look his way as the transfer window goes on.

The Mexicans will play their final group game against the Swedes on Wednesday.
