Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic has welcomed summer signing Fred to Old Trafford shortly after Serbia's final game at the summer World Cup.
The Serbians were ousted from the global tournament after a 2-0 group stage defeat at the hands of Brazil but shortly after the game, Matic exchanged shirts with Fred whilst welcoming him to United.
Speaking to reporters, he said: "I spoke to him after the game; he is a great player. He will bring quality to our team. We will see. I think we'll understand each other very well."
Like Matic, Fred had also spoken fond words about his teammate in a recent interview and it will be interesting to see whether the Brazilian can make a mark with the Red Devils from the off.
Meanwhile, United have recently announced a contract extension of Marouane Fellaini and the Belgian's stay is expected to end the club's pursuit of another midfielder this summer.
