Ramos: Tottenhams saviour

Ramos: Tottenham's saviour

29 February 2008 - 00:48

It's difficult to ignore just how much of a positive affect Juande Ramos is having on Tottenham at the moment. The turn around since Martin Jol left has been remarkable - could this be the dawn of a new era for Tottenham Hotspur?

  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs
  • Arsenal in the front row to sign Dutch striker

  • Juande Ramos already proved just how superb a manager he was during his time at Sevilla, five trophies - including retaining the UEFA Cup for two consecutive seasons - proved Ramos has the recipe for success.

Speaking of recipes, it seems one of his recipes for success is cutting out fatty foods from Tottenham player diets. Ramos regime has turned players like Tom Huddlestone into players that could potentially be world beaters. Many people will look back to the way Arsene Wenger completely revamped Arsenal's player diet when he arrived. Just look at the success he has brought to the Gunners.

Has Juande Ramos made such a significant change that Tottenham can challenge for honours next season? Their first trophy in nine years - and what a brilliant effort that was - was no fluke.

Tottenham could just be going places.

The Gunners will be, admittedly, running a little bit scared. Their North London rivals are catching up with them. It took nine years for them to finally score a win - but they probably owe it to one man - Juande Ramos.
