Shaqiri reacts to completing Liverpool move

New Liverpool signing Xherdan Shaqiri has said that he is happy to join the Reds and wants to win titles with the Anfield side.

Shaqiri completed a £13m move from Stoke City on Friday after undergoing a medical.

The move meant that the former Inter Milan player has finally got his wish after trying and failing to get a move to Liverpool three years ago.

“I’m very happy to be here," Shaqiri told Liverpool's official website. "I want to improve myself too, I want to be with the best and I want to win titles. That’s what I’m here for.”

Shaqiri was in fine form for Switzerland at the World Cup, helping them reach the second round where they were defeated by Sweden.

The former Bayern Munich player was a regular for Stoke City in the Premier League last season, playing 36 games, bagging eight goals and seven assists.

Shaqiri has taken the number 23 shirt left by Emre Can who has joined Serie A side Juventus.
