Sven wants home improvement

Sven wants home improvement

02 March 2008 - 00:04

Sven-Goran Eriksson has demanded an improvement of Man City's home record after another disappointing result at the City of Manchester Stadium as the Citizens battled to a 0-0 draw.

  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts
  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players

  • “We had hoped for a better result,” admitted Eriksson.

“It was difficult to break Wigan down. I think we tried for the full 90 minutes and we created some good chances but we maybe attacked with too many people at the end and gave them some good chances as well.

“If you don’t score it’s very difficult and they were very organised. I think their two strikers (Marlon) King and (Emile) Heskey played very well up front.

“It was not the best of football games. I think if we had scored a goal it would have been much better and been a more open game.

“But as long as you don’t do that they are very good at defending and had eight or nine men behind the ball.

“Talking about our team I think they tried very hard and until the end we were dangerous, but couldn’t score.”
