Leicester City defender Harry Maguire is reportedly hopeful of sealing a move to Manchester United before the transfer window closes on Thursday.
The 25-year-old has been one of England's best-performing centre-backs over the past year and his reputation has been further built with a strong display at the World Cup.
According to Sky Sports News, Maguire remains hopeful of joining the Red Devils this week, though he is unlikely to force through an exit from the King Power Stadium.
As things stand, the Foxes are said to have snubbed a £60m offer from United for their centre-back and reports suggest that Claude Puel's side are likely to rebuff any future offers regardless of the price.
Despite this, the east Midlands outfit are on the search for potential defensive additions but none of those are expected to be made keeping Maguire's situation in mind.
Manchester United open their Premier League campaign with a home fixture against Leicester City. Maguire is likely to miss the meeting having only recently returned from his World Cup break.
