Jose Mourinho wants United's defensive duo to stay

15 August 2018 - 09:23

Manchester United coach Jose Mourinho has revealed that he wants Matteo Darmian and Marcos Rojo to stay at Old Trafford, according to ESPN.

  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players
  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts

  • According to the report, the Portuguese is ready to let the two decide their future this summer, but wants them to stay, at least till January when the transfer window in England will re-open.

Darmian has been linked with a move back to Italy with Juventus, Napoli and Inter Milan reportedly interested.

The Italian is currently needed at Old Trafford with United suffering from an injury crisis in the right side of defence.

The former Torino man featured in United's opening day Premier League win over Leicester City at Old Trafford.

Before the transfer window in England closed, Rojo was linked with a move out of Old Trafford with United seeking a possible replacement.

United, however, failed to get any of their targets in central defence, meaning that Mourinho will be needing the services of the Argentine international.
