17 August 2018 - 04:59

Estonian centre-back Ragnar Klavan is set to depart Anfield after only two years at the club; with his next destination said to be Italian side Cagliari in a 3 million euro deal. The defender has been informed he has no future at Liverpool and will be moved on elsewhere; with Cagliari beating Fenerbahce to the defender's signature.

  • Serie A giants want to sign Liverpool goalkeeper
  • Robert Sanchez dropped from Chelsea XI vs Aston Villa

  • Since his arrival at Liverpool from FC Augsburg, Klavan has played 39 times for Jurgen Klopp's side and scored one goal. Klavan has played previously for Flora, Elva, Heracles, AZ prior to his move to FC Augsburg in Germany, and has appeared 124 times for Estonia's national team.

According to reports, the defender will pen a two year deal with Cagliari and will move to the Italian side next week, worth a reported 50,000 euros per week.

This season the Premier League's transfer window has closed earlier than normal; but foreign teams are still able to purchase players from the English top flight's leagues until the end of August.
