  • Spurs have reportedly sent scouts to watch the Dutchman after failing to sign a player during the summer transfer window.

He was linked with a move to Barcelona the summer transfer window, but decided against a move to the Catalan side.

However, the central defender has not ruled out a move to the La Liga champions in future, with Barca confident they can land him next summer.

The 21-year-old can also play as a defensive midfielder, making him a versatile player that any team would love to have.

He has also been noticed by German club Borussia Dortmund ahead of next summer's transfer window.

Frenkie de Jong has been tipped to become one of the top players in Europe in a few years.

With the likes of Barcelona interested in the signature of the Dutchman, it remains to be seen how Spurs would be able to convince him to join their side if they decide to bid for him.
