Virgil van Dijk speaks ahead of a tough run of fixtures

20 September 2018 - 19:45

Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk has said that the Reds have to stay humble and continue working hard ahead of a tough run of fixtures.

  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs
  • Arsenal in the front row to sign Dutch striker

  • The Reds will face Southampton, Manchester City, Napoli and Chelsea twice (Carabao Cup and Premier League) in their next five games starting this weekend.

Liverpool will face Southampton this weekend on the back of a 3-2 win over Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.

These five fixtures will take place within 16 days, starting from the 22nd of September and ending on the 7th of October.

Speaking on the cluster of games, the Dutchman said, liverpoolfc.com reports: “When games come along every three days you have to be properly prepared, it’s the only way forward."

These run of games will be a real test for Liverpool as they bid to win a major silverware this season.

Jurgen Klopp's men are currently in the right frame of mind to take on this challenge, having won all their games in all competitions this season.
