Pickford reacts to new Everton contract

Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has said that he wants to play as many games as possible for the club after signing a new deal.

  • On Wednesday, it was reported that the England first choice goalkeeper has signed a new six-year deal that will see him stay at the club until 2024.

    Pickford also said that he hopes to improve his game on a daily basis and maintain his position as the Three Lion's first choice.

    Speaking to evertontv, he said: "I want to play as many games as I can for the Club, that's my goal now. Hopefully, I can continue to progress, become a better goalkeeper each and every day and keep that England No 1 shirt as well. That's another aim."

    The former Sunderland man also expressed his delight with his new deal in his twitter account, thanking the fans for their support since he joined the club.

    He joined Everton from Sunderland in the summer of 2017 for an initial fee of £25m.

    His form for the Toffees in his first season earned him a place in England's World Cup squad to Russia where he helped them finish fourth.
