Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has admitted that he is unsure whether David de Gea will be staying put with the club beyond the expiry of his current contract.
The Spain international has been one of the club's most consistent performers since joining them from Atletico Madrid in 2011 and has won the club's Player of the Year in four of the previous five campaigns.
Despite this, the lack of regular trophies has presented doubts whether De Gea would remain with United for the long-term and speaking to Sky Sports News, Mourinho has admitted that he is not confident regarding the Spaniard's future.
"I am not confident," Mourinho told told Sky Sports News. "I cannot find the word in English, but let's see what happens. Only the club, David and his people can answer that."
De Gea's current deal expires at the end of the current season but the club have the option to prolong his stay for another 12 months by means of an extension clause available.
Both Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus are presently keeping tabs on the Spaniard and one of them could seek to prise him away, should the contract standoff stand until the summer.
