Former Manchester United favourite Zlatan Ibrahimovic is reportedly on the cusp of rejoining AC Milan on a six-month loan deal in the New Year.
The 37-year-old terminated his contract with United earlier in the year to make the move to Major League Soccer with Los Angeles Galaxy.
He has since found a rich vein of form with 22 goals and six assists from just 27 appearances and this has seen him linked with a potential return to Europe.
According to Calciomercato, the Rossoneri are confident than ever of re-signing the ex-Sweden international, who netted 56 goals for the club between 2010 and 2012.
It is added that he would initially join on a six-month loan deal but he could earn a permanent one-year extension thereafter, should Milan qualify for next season's Champions League.
Milan have recently gone without a win in two successive Serie A matches and the run sees them one point adrift of Lazio for the final Champions League qualification spot.
