Juventus reject Chelsea bid for Argentine striker

Chelsea have reportedly failed in their attempt to secure a loan deal for Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain.

  • The Argentine is currently on a two-year loan deal with AC Milan but there have recently been suggestions that his contract could be terminated in order for him to join the Blues.

However, that seems far from happening at the moment with Evening Standard claiming that the Bianconeri have rejected the initial approach from the Blues.

It is added that the Turin giants could still permit the loan departure of Higuain but they are said to want an obligatory £32m buy option which the Blues are reluctant to match.

Higuain has not enjoyed the best of seasons in the Serie A this term and he has managed just six goals through the first half of the season. Still, he has been earmarked as Sarri's prime target after them previously working together at Napoli.
