Hughes hoping for Intertoto

Hughes hoping for Intertoto

17 March 2008 - 22:59

After seeing his Blackburn side slip down to ninth in the Premier League, Rovers' boss Mark Hughes admitted he is concerned that the race for UEFA Cup qualification via the Intertoto Cup is most certainly on, but remains hopeful that his side can still pluck up a good finish to the end of the season.

  • Chelsea defender back in training ahead of Man Utd game
  • Chelsea keen on re-signing former graduate
  • "Qualifying for Europe is important to us because it really helps with recruitment," he conceded in the Lancashire Telegraph.

"If you've got the attraction of European football, then it helps when you are trying to attract a better quality of player.

"Ideally, we would like to present that to players if we are able to attract the right quality.

"There are still games to play, and we've still got games we feel we can win, so it's not over yet."
