Arsenal and Chelsea are reportedly monitoring the proceedings of AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie ahead of a potential transfer tussle for his signature during the summer.

  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal

  • The Ivory Coast international joined the Rossoneri from Atalanta last season and he has since evolved into a crucial first-team player under the guidance of Gennaro Gattuso.

Despite this, his long-term future with the Rossoneri remains under question amid their financial concerns and Calciomercato reports that they could listen to offers for his services in the summer.

It is added that Arsenal and Chelsea are among those weighing up moves for the midfield enforcer for whom Rossoneri are expected to demanded a minimal fee of around £26.3m.

Milan made a couple of big-money signings during the winter transfer window but this may force them to offload a few players as they seek to comply with the Financial Fair Play restrictions.

The San Siro outfit were previously handed a European ban before accepting a fine upon appeal but they may not receive a similar favour for next season where they could potentially make their Champions League comeback.
