Rafa: biggest game of season

Rafa: biggest game of season

21 March 2008 - 11:10

Rafa Benitez has hailed Sunday's match between Liverpool and Man Utd as the biggest game of the season for his side. Rafa has always maintained that Liverpool can still win the title, and the Spaniard believes three more points will put the Anfield side a step closer to the top of the league.

  • "We have important games coming up, but the rivalry between these two sides means it is one of the most important," said Benitez.

"It is a crucial time. If we win, we will be closer, then we can continue trying to win every game and get closer and closer. It will be really difficult to get closer to them, so we need to think about fourth position and the fight against Everton.

"We were really close in a lot of games (to beating Manchester United) but have sometimes had really bad luck, like conceding in the last minute after missing a lot of chances. But this is another opportunity."
