Chelsea are reportedly considered favourites to beat Manchester United to the signature of Luka Jovic this summer, provided they manage to overcome their transfer ban.

The west London giants are banned from signing players for the next two transfer windows but they are hoping to at least suspend the embargo through an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

According to Football.London, both Chelsea and United are in the race to sign the Serbia international, who has excelled for Eintracht Frankfurt with 27 goals and six assists this season.

It is added that the marksman has a particular preference for Champions League football and this could provide the Blues with the edge when compared to United, who failed to make the Premier League top four.

Frankfurt recently triggered a clause to secure the permanent signing of Jovic for around £8.5m from Benfica and they are likely to demand at least six times the sum to sanction his sale this summer.
