Liverpool are understood to have made contact regarding a big-money move for Lille's Nicolas Pepe during the summer transfer window.

  • Arsenal & Chelsea want to sign ex-Forest midfielder
  • Chelsea set for massive double injury boost vs Liverpool
  • The Ivorian contributed an impressive tally of 22 goals and 11 assists during the recent league campaign and that has helped Lille secure a Champions League berth with a runner-up finish.

Owing to this, he has caught the radar of elite European claims and football expert Duncan Castles has revealed that the Reds have made contact with the player's representative over a potential summer move.

"Liverpool have been, I'm told, in contact with Pepe's agent to discuss a deal, discuss his interest in coming there, what it would cost to bring him there. Lille are aware of this and are waiting for a bid." he toldĀ The Transfer Window Podcast.

Lille president Gerard Lopez has previously confirmed that the club have snubbed offers of around &pound50m from Premier League sides and it would take at least &pound69m for any club to prise the attacker away from Stade Pierre Mauroy.
