Arsenal in talks with Paris Saint-Germain over £20m defender deal

Arsenal have reportedly opened up negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain to secure the services of defender Thomas Meunier this summer.

Meunier has been with Les Parisiens for the past three seasons but his future continues to remain uncertain with his contract expiring in 12 months' time.

According to The Mail, Unai Emery's side have made contact with Les Parisiens over a &pound20m deal for Meunier but they are yet to convince them into doing business.

The French champions are said to want at least &pound30m for the former Club Brugge man and they are supposedly waiting on offers from other interested parties.

Aside from Arsenal, Manchester United have also been associated with the versatile defender and sources suggest that they could have the advantage in the player's pursuit this summer.

Meunier has previously revealed his admiration for the Red Devils from his childhood days and reports indicate that he could favour linking up with them rather than a reunion with former manager Unai Emery.
