Manchester United set price tag for Italian defender

24 July 2019 - 17:24

Manchester United are prepared to demand a transfer fee of around £12m in order to part ways with Matteo Darmian this summer.

  • Chelsea expected to sell striker after loan deal
  • Arsenal defender misses training ahead of Man Utd game

  • The 29-year-old has been with the Red Devils since the summer of 2015, but his gametime has seemingly reduced in the past few seasons at the club.

According to Standard Sport, the Mancunian giants are willing to sanction the sale of Matteo Darmian this summer, provided any club is prepared to match their £12m valuation.

Both Juventus and Inter Milan are understood to hold an interest in bringing Darmian back to the Serie A and the latter are said to be favourites with manager Antonio Conte preferring to play with a wing-back system.

Aside from Darmian, Romelu Lukaku has also been linked with a potential departure from Old Trafford with the Nerazzurri likewise interested in signing him.

The Serie A side have fallen short of the Red Devils' £75m price tag for the defender but they are still optimistic of pushing through a deal during the transfer window.
