Liverpool have reportedly suffered an injury blow with goalkeeper Alisson Becker likely to miss up to six weeks of action with a calf problem.
The Brazil international picked up the injury during the opening half of the Premier League curtain-raiser against Norwich City and he was thereafter replaced by debutant and summer signing Adrian.
Thereafter, he was spotted leaving the ground on a wheelchair which presented doubts over an Achilles injury but The Express states that he has suffered nothing more than a calf injury.
Still, the 26-year-old will miss up to six weeks of first-team action with the European champions, who are presently with just one fit senior shot-stopper in the form of Adrian.
Former Preston North End goalkeeper Andy Lonergan could be handed with a short-term contract in the injury absence of Alisson. The 35-year-old was training with the Reds during the initial weeks of pre-season.
Liverpool made an impressive start to the Premier League campaign with a 4-1 triumph over newly-promoted Norwich City at Anfield. The victory sees them second on the table behind Manchester City on goal difference.
