ESPN pundit says Arsenal will make top four ahead of rivals because of this reason

Burley fancies Arsenal to beat United, Chelsea in top-four race

ESPN pundit says Arsenal will make top four ahead of rivals because of this reason

02 September 2019 - 19:05

ESPN pundit Craig Burley believes Arsenal have a good chance of making the top four ahead of Manchester United and Chelsea due to their quality in the attacking department.

  • Arsenal preparing third bid for Spanish star
  • Chelsea ready to sell Christopher Nkunku to Man Utd for £35m?

  • The Gunners found themselves trailing by a couple of goals in the first half of the north London derby against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, but they managed to salvage a point with a strong response thereafter.

With the 2-2 draw, Unai Emery's side are two points ahead of both Manchester United and Chelsea at the early phase of the season and Burley feels they have more going forward which will make the difference in the top four race.

"Arsenal could have won this game prior to it starting, then obviously the first half it looked unlikely, then it did look likely,” Burley said on ESPN FC.

“But I think we saw one of the reasons why I think they’ll get potentially in the top four this year is because compared to Man United and Chelsea, they’ve got more going forward."

Arsenal have accumulated seven points after the first four league matches and this sees them occupying the fifth position. They are presently behind fourth-placed Crystal Palace on only goal difference.

The Capital outfit are scheduled to face Watford on the road after the international break before starting their Europa League campaign with an away trip to last season's semi-finalists Eintracht Frankfurt.
