Barcelona will reportedly make a renewed bid to sign Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz when the transfer window reopens at the turn of the year.
The Spaniard, who came through the ranks at Real Betis, had an impressive debut season with Napoli last term, where he made 40 appearances under Carlo Ancellotti.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the Blaugrana are prepared to retain their long-term interest in signing Ruiz in the New Year with the future of Ivan Rakitic hanging in the balance.
The Blaugrana had three separate occasions to sign Ruiz in the past and one of those was during the summer of 2017 where he was available for just £5.3m from Elche.
Napoli are currently said to value him at around £53.7m but that has not deterred the Blaugrana from weighing up an offer for the winter transfer window.
Barcelona have made an uncharacteristic start to the current season and they have accumulated just four points from the opening three games. They are presently five points off Atletico Madrid at the top of the table.
