AS Monaco midfielder Cesc Fabregas has heaped praise on young midfielder Billy Gilmour, who produced an impressive display for Chelsea against Grimsby Town last night.
The 18-year-old was handed with his maiden start for the club in the centre of the park and he had a flawless performance as he dominated the proceedings in the League Cup tie.
Gilmour had previously stated that Fabregas was one of his favourite players growing up and the former Chelsea star has now returned the compliment by praising his display against Grimsby.
"He played amazing tonight. Personality is the most important at this age and he's got it all right. Now time to keep learning and taking advantage of these games to prove the coach he's good enough," he tweeted.
Chelsea cruised to a comfortable 7-1 triumph over Grimsby in the third round of the League Cup. They face a testing challenge in the next round after being pitted against Manchester United.
