Former France striker Jean-Pierre Papin has been appointed coach of RC Lens as a replacement for the departing Guy Roux.
Papin played for Marseille, Milan and Bayern Munich and was one of the most prolific strikers in Europe in the late 80's. Roux quit his job after his side's 2-1 defeat to Racing Strasbourg on Saturday.
Lens are currently second from bottom in French Ligue 1 after four matches.
