McLeish wants strikers to score

27 March 2008 - 21:42

Birmingham City coach Alex McLeish has called on his strikers to get on the scoresheet more often if they are to survive in the Premiership this season. Brum have been dealt with the blow that James McFadden will be missing for two more games.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • "I emphasise that we believe in the guys coming in maybe a little bit more than they believe in themselves sometimes," McLeish told the club's website.

"They've just got to free themselves of any little doubts that they have and show that they are top Premier League players."

Birmingham produced a great performance against Arsenal, and McLeish wants to see that repeated: "If we can show that form we're a match for anybody, but we need to turn some of the tangible work into three points."
