Milan giants to compete for the signature of Arsenal star?

Italian giants AC Milan and Inter Milan could reportedly battle it out for the services of Mesut Ozil when the transfer window reopens at the turn of the year.

  • The German footballer has fallen out-of-favour under manager Unai Emery this term and he has been restricted to just two appearances across all competitions for the club.

According to Calciomercato, the Milan clubs are monitoring the proceedings of the former World Cup winner and they could attempt to push through a deal with the Gunners in the New Year.

However, given the financial constraints of both teams, a loan move seems the best option forward whereby the Gunners may have to pay part of the player's £350,000-a-week wages.

Ozil has less than two years remaining on his contract with the Gunners but the speculation over his future has recently intensified amid claims that he has put his London house up for sale.
