Manchester United are reportedly the clear favourites to land the signature of Erling Braut Haaland from Red Bull Salzburg when the transfer window reopens in just over a month's time.
Haaland has been in superb form for the Austrian giants and he has already notched 27 goals in all competitions including eight in the Champions League group stage.
This has attracted interest from the likes of Real Madrid, Juventus, RB Leipzig and Barcelona but AS claims that the Red Devils have the upper hand in landing his services next year.
It is added that the teenager is keen to ply his trade in the English top-flight and he would find it hard to turn down a reunion with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who handed him his debut at former club Molde.
Meanwhile, reports elsewhere have stated that the club have ended their interest in signing Mario Mandzukic amid concerns over his lack of gametime during the first half of the season.
