Max Allegri reveals when he could return to management

06 December 2019 - 07:50

Former Juventus manager Max Allegri has ruled himself out of the race for the Arsenal job after stressing that he is unlikely to return from his sabbatical until the end of the season.

  • Chelsea have discussed move for Alejandro Garnacho
  • Spanish star has arrived in London to complete Arsenal transfer

  • The Italian has been regarded as one of the leading contenders for the Gunners head coach role but it appears that he has no plans of returning to management with a club, who are certainly in a crisis.

"I had 18 years as a player and I've been in coaching for 16. I stopped this year after 34. I'm happy. After a year out and five years at Juventus, I don't want to go back into the game and do badly. That would do my head in," he told ESPN.

Arsenal have gone nine games without winning in all competitions and the results have meant that they have made their worst beginning to a campaign in more than four decades.

As a result, they have dropped to the 10th position in the league standings are currently nearer to the relegation places than the top four. The Gunners are separated from the drop zone by just five points.
