Keegan demands strong finish

Keegan demands strong finish

30 March 2008 - 12:20

Newcastle boss Kevin Keegan has demanded a strong finish from his players as they look set to be safe from relegation to the Championship. Newcastle face a very tough trip to White Hart Lane this afternoon to take off Tottenham.

  • Chelsea make firm decision on Marc Guehi
  • Chelsea striker won't return after temporary stint

  • Keegan quipped: "We need a good end to the season so that when the players come back from their break, there is something that shows this club is on the move upwards.

"It's a bit like riding a tiger. More here than at other clubs. I know - I've done it before.

"It's a special club. I keep telling the players that when they manage to turn things it will take off quicker than at any other club. It's vitally important we finish on a high. This cannot be a great season for Newcastle - it couldn't be when I came through the door in January.

"The chairman and the owner said the bonuses were massive - but I couldn't have won any of them really! There was the FA Cup, but we had already been drawn against Arsenal away."
