Barcelona boss open to signing Chelsea attacker?

14 December 2019 - 07:19

Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde has seemingly opened the door for Pedro to make a comeback with the club following the expiry of his contract at Chelsea.

  • Arsenal make decision to sell midfielder for £20m
  • Arsenal lining up surprise move for Real Madrid star

  • The Spaniard has fallen out-of-favour under Frank Lampard this term and he has managed the solitary start over the past few months and has been left out of the matchday squad on numerous occasions.

In a recent interview, Pedro said that he would welcome the prospect of making a comeback with the Blaugrana when his contract concludes in the summer and it appears that Valverde may be open to the deal.

Speaking in a press conference, Valverde said that Pedro is a 'historic player' at the Camp Nou and refused to deny that the attacker could be reunited with the Spanish champions next summer.

"He is a historic player at this club. He is one of the players here with the most club titles. He is at another club and we have to respect him. We will see what the future holds," he told.

Pedro has notched 42 goals from nearly 200 appearances for the Blues in all competitions. During this time at Barcelona, Pedro amassed 99 goals from 321 games and won the Champions League on three separate occasions.
