Mesut Ozil heading out of Arsenal on loan?

19 December 2019 - 18:46

Turkish giants Fenerbahce are reportedly interested in landing the signature of Mesut Ozil on a temporary basis when the transfer window reopens.

  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players
  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts

  • The German was heavily linked with a move to the Istanbul outfit last summer but the club came out to dismiss the speculation.

Since then, Ozil has made 11 appearances for the north London side in all competitions but he has been far from impressive, having bagged the solitary assist in the process.

According to Fotomac, Ozil's position with the Gunners could be uncertain, particularly with the appointment of ex-club-captain Mikel Arteta as their new head coach.

The Spaniard is unlikely to entertain players, who are reluctant to exhibit a high level of work rate and reports claim that Ozil could be loaned out for the remainder of his contract, which expires in June 2021.

It is added that Fenerbahce still hold an interest in pursuing the former World Cup winner and they are willing to sign him, provided the Gunners are prepared to pay part of the midfielder's £350,000-a-week wages.
