Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly in discussions with Manchester United regarding the possibility of becoming the new manager at the end of the season.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been in charge of the Red Devils since December 2018 but his position remains uncertain with the club struggling to find the consistency with the results.
According to Alfredo Pedulla, the former Tottenham Hotspur boss is in regular contact with the United board and talks have been held over the head coach role which could be vacated by Solskjaer in the summer.
It is added that the Argentine will want complete control over the transfer proceedings at the club and he would like to work without the influence of executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward.
Manchester United will be aiming to return to winning ways in the Premier League when they host Burnley at Old Trafford tonight. The Red Devils can move within three points off the top four with a victory against Sead Dyche's side.
