Bayer Leverkusen's director of sport Rudi Voller praised Dick Advocaat's Zenit St Petersburg side after the Russians thumped the German side 4-1 in the UEFA Cup quarter final. Zenit bagged three goals in twelve minutes to finish off Leverkusen.
"With a performance like that, St Petersburg are better suited to the Champions League," said Bayer's director of sport Voeller.
"It happened exactly as we had warned the players. The Russians hit us on the counter-attack and we played into their hands.
"We weren't aggressive enough and St Petersburg played at such a level that you didn't get the feeling we were playing at home."
