Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has heaped praise on Bruno Fernandes after the Portuguese made the difference in Sunday's Premier League clash against Watford.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • The Portuguese has made only three league appearances for United this season but he has been hugely influential with one goal and two assists to his name.

Against Watford, he managed to score his first United goal with a penalty and he capped off the performance with the assist for Mason Greenwood's late strike.

Speaking after the game, Solskjaer acknowledged that Fernandes has given a boost to the entire team, given his visible quality in the final third of the playing field.

"He's given everyone a boost. It means more than just getting a player in. You can see the supporters, they're used to players with that personality, mentality and quality so he's been a big plus," he told via BBC Sport.

Manchester United will be in Europa League action on Thursday night. They picked up a 1-1 draw from the first leg of the round of 32 clash against Club Brugge and are in a good position to progress to the next phase.
