Lahm to stay at Bayern

Manchester United and Chelsea target Philipp Lahm looks set to stay in the Bundesliga for another year as Bayern Munich have revealed that a contract is set to be agreed between the two parties. Lahm is regarded as one of the best full backs in Europe, and the German will now be staying in his homeland for the forseeable future.

  • “Discussions have been ongoing this week with Uli Hoeneß. I can well imagine that we will come to an agreement early next week."



    Of boss Jurgen Klinsmann, Lahm said: "He assured me that I was going to be a key part of his defence.”



    Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge revealed that Lahm would be staying: "We are on course for a satisfactory and fair conclusion."
