Chelsea are reportedly exploring the possibility of pursuing Angel Gomes on a free transfer from Manchester United at the end of the season.

  • Chelsea planning shock move for Man City winger?

  • The 19-year-old has been restricted to just five appearances for United this term and he is currently said to be assessing his options ahead of the summer.

Gomes' current deal with the Red Devils expires in June and he has yet to commit to a renewed contract amid concerns over the lack of playing time under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

According to Metro, the Red Devils have offered Gomes with a contract worth £25,000-a-week but the player's representative feel that he deserves a better salary for his potential.

The same outlet claims that the Blues are keeping an eye on the situation with manager Frank Lampard keen on luring the youngster to Stamford Bridge in four months' time.

Solskjaer has recently indicated that negotiations are underway with the attacker over a renewed deal but it remains to be seen whether United can reach an agreement with the player.
