Bruno Fernandes reveals the main factor behind Manchester United move

Portuguese playmaker Bruno Fernandes has revealed that manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer played a key role in luring him to Manchester United in January.

  • Pep Guardiola comments on Cole Palmer's success at Chelsea
  • Man Utd & Chelsea set to miss out on French winger

  • The Red Devils had been in constant negotiations with Sporting to sign the 25-year-old and they eventually struck the deal during the final days of the winter transfer window.

Fernandes has since made a quick impression for the club with three goals and four assists from nine appearances and he has become a favourite among the fans.

Speaking to MUTV, the midfielder has now admitted that Solskjaer's backing contributed towards him making the switch to Old Trafford before the winter transfer deadline.

"For me, the most important was obviously the confidence of the coach. I need to know I am backed from the coach, because sometimes when you change club, not every time the coach wants you," he said.

Fernandes has solved United's lack of creativity from the number 10 role but the club are still said to be eyeing another player, who can provide back-up to the Portuguese.
