Chelsea make transfer decision on Jeremia Boga

Chelsea have decided against triggering the £13m buy-back clause in the contract of Sassuolo winger Jeremie Boga, a report from The Guardian claims.

  • Chelsea suffer double injury blow ahead of Villa trip
  • Mikel Arteta confirms big injury boost for Spurs clash

  • The 23-year-old left the Blues to join Sassuolo in the summer of 2018 but the Blues agreed on a buy-back option judging by the potential of their graduate.

Boga has impressed for the Serie A outfit this term with eight goals and four assists from 25 outings but it appears that the Blues have no intention of re-signing him.

According to The Guardian, Frank Lampard does not see the winger as part of his plans for the future and the Blues are willing to convert the buy-back option into a sell-on clause.

Boga is likely to be sold by Sassuolo in the next transfer window and reports claim that Napoli are leading the race to sign the Ivorian, who made only one competitive appearance for the Blues.

He has also been linked with the likes of Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund but neither of those clubs have revived their interest following the January transfer window.
