O'Neil joins Boro

02 September 2007 - 16:54

Gary O'Neil has completed a move across the Premiership from Portsmouth to Middlesbrough in a deal estimated to be worth around £4m.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • Harry Redknapp has been known to highly rate the player, and his move will come as a shock to the Portsmouth fans.

Redknapp once said, "Gary O'Neil is proving a real find for Portsmouth. It's good to see him coming along well. His passing is tip-top, he's strong and quick. He will definitely go on to play for England one day."

It is believed the summer signing of Muntari from Udinese may have pushed O'Neil out of the club.
