Manchester United to prioritise two signings?

21 September 2020 - 21:09

Manchester United are prepared to prioritise the signing of a left-back and right-sided winger before the transfer window closes next month.

  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs
  • Arsenal in the front row to sign Dutch striker

  • The Red Devils have experienced a quiet summer transfer window and they have recruited just one player in the form of Donny van de Beek.

Van de Beek scored on his Red Devils debut last weekend, but the game ended in disappointment as the club succumbed to a 3-1 loss to Crystal Palace.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has since acknowledged that the club need more additions to the squad and The Athletic claims that they could make two signings before the international transfer window closes on October 5.

The central defence has been a concern for the Mancunian giants for somewhile with Victor Lindelof struggling to impress alongside club-captain Harry Maguire.

However, the club have no plans of adding another centre-back to their ranks and are instead focused on signing a new left-back and right-sided winger in the next few weeks.

Porto's Alex Telles is reportedly the main target for the left-back position and United are currently in advanced negotiations to sign him. Meanwhile, Jadon Sancho is the number one option for the Red Devils to strengthen the right-wing department.

They have been in constant contact with Borussia Dortmund through an intermediary in recent months. A deal appears unlikely to happen at the moment as they are reluctant to meet the £108m asking price.
