USA manager provides update on Christian Pulisic's injury

10 November 2020 - 21:14

USA head coach Gregg Berhalter has said that Christian Pulisic is being monitored on a day-to-day basis after joining up with the national team.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • The Chelsea attacker suffered a hamstring injury during the warm-up before the Burnley clash last month and he has yet to overcome the problem.

Speaking to Fox Sports, Berhalter said that Pulisic is still adapting to the demands of the Premier League and he should eventually stay fit over a long period of time, he told: "I have no doubt that he’s going to be a player that is fit for a very long period of time when he gets through this period."

Pulisic is currently with the national team in their training camp in Cardiff and Berhalter has revealed that the forward's muscular injury will be assessed on a day-to-day basis.

He added: "Christian is in camp and is listed as day-to-day. It says a lot about Christian that he wasn’t playing for Chelsea but wanted to come into this camp and be around the team. His status is day-to-day."

Pulisic has impressed for the Blues when he has been handed a regular run of starts. He has, however, been unable to stay fit over extended periods and that has hampered his playing time.
